Emirates Center for Government Knowledge, International Institute for Tolerance Sign Agreement to develop/design organizational structure

The Emirates Centre for Government Knowledge (ECGK) – part of the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) – has signed an agreement with the International Institute for Tolerance to apply international best practices to the Institute’s organisational chart and align it with the UAE Vision 2021.
 
The accord was signed by ECGK’s Director Mohammed Hassan Al Khatib and Dr Hamad Al Shaikh Ahmad Al Shaibani, Board of Trustee’s representative at the International Institute for Tolerance; the first-of-its-kind centre in the region, which is tasked with proposing policies and legislation to entrench the values of tolerance in the society.
 
The agreement will pave the way for analysing existing organisational measures at the Institute, designing and developing a new and improved structure for the Institute, developing organisational unit functions, and preparing job descriptions for department directors and section heads.
 
“As a home for institutional knowledge and a centre for the promotion of government excellence, we, at the Emirates Centre for Government Knowledge, seek to implement the aspirations of our wise leaders, and develop administrative systems and organisational structures across government departments to meet international best practice,” said Al Khatib.
 
“We are delighted to be cooperating with the International Institute for Tolerance given its important role in promoting the values ​​of co-existence in the UAE and the region” concluded Al Khatib.
 
Meanwhile, Dr Al Shaibani said: “Cooperating with the Emirates Government Knowledge Centre offers us insight into new ways to introduce policies and legislations to promote tolerance and moderation in society, to advocate for co-existence and positivity, and to re-structure our administrative practices to support the members of the board and boost efficiency and excellence.”
 
The implementation of the project will be carried out over four phases: Preparation and planning; studying the current situation and developing organisational recommendations; defining the functions and responsibilities of organisational units and officials; and finally, preparing for the endorsement of the new organisational structure.
 
Cooperation between the two organisations provides an opportunity to exchange views and experiences, transfer knowledge, and determine the institute’s strategic framework, vision and direction.
