تتحمّل المؤسسات والحكومات والشركات ومنظمات المجتمع المدني مهمة ضخمة لمواكبة التغيّر السريع والتأثير الآسي للتكنولوجيا الجديدة وتبعات الثورة الصناعية الرابعة، بالإضافة إلى التحديات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والبيئية المعقدة التي تواجهها الحكومات اليوم، والتغير التكنولوجي المتسارع والاتصال الفوري الذي ربط العالم، وقوّة التأثير المتبادل حيث ظهرت في هذه البيئة الجديدة الحاجة إلى مبادئ وقواعد وسياسات جديدة لتسريع الآثار الإيجابية والشاملة لهذه التطورات، مع تقليل آثارها السلبية بشكل فعّال، كما انتبهت المؤسسات والحكومات إلى حتميّة اتخاذها مجموعة من الإجراءات للتكيف، وملاحقة التغيرات العالمية الكبيرة، فلم تعد الهياكل والأساليب وحتى أدوار الدولة التقليدية كافية لمعالجة المشكلات المعقدة.

The Presentation will discuss the efforts exerted to harness Digital Transformation in the Public Sector, while attempting to highlight the key differences between Digitization, Digitalization and Digital Transformation. It will also address the main pillars of digital readiness across governments and how mutual benefits exist between the latter and end users. The presentation will include a brief on the most common operation model adopted for digital transformation and instruments that include using digital technologies to streamline a procedure, making it more efficient or impactful. Implementing technology should not simply mimic a process, but it should also make it significantly more effective.

Artificial Intelligence Systems (AIS) are all around us. It is growing at a phenomenal rate (33% CAGR) and is supposed to add $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, according to PwC. As designers, producers, regulators, service providers, adaptors or decision-makers, and users, we all have a role in ensuring these innovations are ethically aligned. Unfortunately, this task is not easy. While there are many AI ethics documents – they are all not fragmented and open to interpretation. Meanwhile, the list of AI failures and scandals is growing day by day. A recent BCG report highlights that AI failures are as high as 70%-80%. So what can we as decision-makers do?
