Job Title: Director of Academic Affairs 

Department: Academic Affairs
 

Reporting to the Dean, the Director of Academic Affairs is responsible for all academic programs at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG). This is a leadership role within the School that provides support for students, faculty members, and employers. The school has currently four graduate programs, approximately three hundred students, twelve full time faculty members, and six administrative staff including a registrar. The Director will lead curriculum development, policy formulation, program planning, evaluation, and accreditation. The current four Master programs are public policy, innovation management; public administration and executive public administration. 

The role occupant will lead efforts in maintaining educational license and academic accreditation with the federal ministry of Education. Experience with international accreditation bodies such as NASPAA is a major advantage. The candidate must demonstrate a track record of enhancing student experience, employer engagement, and of growing programs. 

The Director will lead the academic affairs department, strategically and operationally. She/he will also develop budgets, outreach plans, and focus on student and alumni development as well establishing effective national and international links and alliances. Other core departments in the School, and under the Dean, are executive education and research and policy. 

The role occupant is expected to be at the Professor level in public administration / public policy areas with significant research, teaching, and industry records. Understanding the context and vision of MBR School of Government as policy think tank focusing on the business of government in Dubai, UAE, and the region is a key to success in this role. Building synergies between academic programs, policy research and advisory, and executive education and training is a strategy for MBR School of Government which requires individuals who are solid academically but also innovative and practice focused. This is an exciting leadership opportunity.
