Laila has a rich experience relative to K-12, higher education and operations in the UAE. She has more than 20 years of experience, she worked with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority KHDA, Ministry of Education, Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University and Zayed University. During her time in the higher education system, KHDA and Ministry of Education, she was the focal point of contact for any school wishing to compile information, and provided advice on operations, requirements and needs.
She also has experience in consulting with the EduEval institute, the American Institute and Abu Dhabi Education Council.
The most important projects she has worked on include:
- Curriculum development for K-6 – British University in Dubai - 3 months (2013)
- Standardized framework for national education in the UAE – EduEval consultancy – in collaboration with the American research institute at the Ministry of Education – UAE – 5 months (2014)
- My identity project – in cooperation with the Razi education for ADEC – 3 months (2014)
- Ta’alouf professional development program for teachers – Al Jalila Foundation (2014 – to present)
Layla’s education attainment includes a BA in education from the UAE University, Masters in Literature in education management through the internet and business from Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University, PhD candidate at the Education Leaders program at the British University in Dubai.
