DSG and KHDA to evaluate provisions for students with special educational needs at the 3rd Education Policy Forum

The Dubai School of Government (DSG) hosted yesterday evening the third Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) Education Policy Forum to identify and evaluate the provisions for students with special educational needs (SEN).

The event unveiled a policy brief that outlines KHDA’s recommendations for improving SEN policies in schools across Dubai. The policy brief was presented in English and Arabic to an audience including students, parents, as well as representatives of higher education bodies, and officials from Dubai government institutions. Developed by Fatma Belrehif, Head of Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau, with support from Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau [DSIB] team, this policy brief aims to benchmark the identification of special educational needs and offer criteria for examining quality of provisions.

Moderated by Ammar Shams, UAE national and Regional Head of Corporate Sustainability with HSBC Bank Middle East, the panel will feature Ruba Tabari, Educational Psychologist (PHD), Dr Bushra Al Mulla, Director Dubai Early Childhood Development Centre at Community Development Authority, and Claire Crawley, Head of Extended Learning, Dubai British School.
