DSG Graduates Third Cohort from MPA Program

On Wednesday, DSG held a graduation ceremony for students of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

HH Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, attended the ceremony and awarded graduation certificates to 21 students from eight countries for their successful completion of the one-year programme.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, families and friends of the students, and faculty and staff of the Dubai School of Government.

His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Executive President of DSG, said: “Designed to meet international standards, the MPA programme empowers aspiring leaders from across the Arab world to effectively address challenges and maximise opportunities that they face as public sector professionals. In addition to honing functional and regional specialisations, the curriculum allows participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the international and regional developments in public administration.
“We are delighted to witness the third batch of MPA students successfully complete the program. The graduates had the opportunity to learn from and interact with faculty and industry experts from diverse institutional backgrounds to examine the challenges faced by Arab public sector managers. We are confident they will put the skills and knowledge gained from the programme to good use in their respective communities and countries.”

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme at the Dubai School of Government is an interdisciplinary, professional programme that prepares students for high-level positions in the government, quasi-government, or non-profit (including philanthropic) sectors. The MPA programme is open to promising mid-career, in-service professionals with six or more years of relevant experience. It enables participants to better understand contemporary theories and techniques of public sector management and equips them to resolve key global issues from a regional perspective. The programme focuses on group study to promote cross-cultural understanding and exchange.
