Executive Education Launches “Leaders Program” To Train 300 Libyan Officials
In a move to support Libya in restructuring its public sector, Executive Education has launched a training program for senior leaders in the Libyan government. As part of the initiative, DSG will share its experience in management and leadership with 300 select participants identified by the Libyan government.
The initiative falls within the framework of the agreement that was recently signed between the Dubai School of Government and the Veterans Affairs Commission in Benghazi, to design and deliver an executive education program under the title ‘Leaders Program - Government of Libya’.
Dr Ali Sebaa’ Al Marri, Executive President, said: "The initiative comes as part of our continuous efforts to facilitate the development of public policies in the Arab world and strengthen management skills in institutions. We consistently strive to transfer our expertise in the field of training, reintegration and state administration to those seeking to benefit from our experience.”
Dr. Al Marri also added: "We thank the Libyan government for the confidence demonstrated in the Dubai School of Government. We articulate our commitment to redouble our efforts to provide the highest level of expertise to help government officials in Libya carry out their tasks to satisfaction. We will, therefore, work towards enhancing knowledge, developing methodology, and offering case studies from our government in the management of state affairs.”
The training program includes a series of workshops, seminars and specialized educational programs. It will be implemented in three stages, each consisting of 100 participants to provide personalized attention. The first phase is scheduled to run from 30 March until 25 April.
Refaat Hadagha, Head of Leadership Program - Government of Libya, said: "Dubai School of Government’s extensive experience in government rehabilitation motivated us to call upon their expertise. The Libyan government has adopted the School’s proposal, which includes an educational program for the development of institutional governance through raising the efficiency of our employees at all levels of management. We are confident the Dubai School of Government will meet many of the requirements of the Libyan government's developmental plans, particularly in grooming public sector staff across all ranks."
The program will cover areas such as strategic planning, quality and organizational excellence, as well as project management and financial priorities. As part of efforts to help participants understand work flows within government bodies and their best practices, field trips will be organized to government institutions in Dubai including Dubai Police Headquarters, Department of Economic Development, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, Roads & Transport Authority, Jebel Ali Free Zone, Department of Finance, Dubai Government Excellence Programme, and the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs.
