MBRSG Launched ‘The Future Government Programs’
The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), a research and educational institution specializing in public policy in the Arab world, today announced the launch The Future Government Programs a series of new master’s degree programs.
As a knowledge partner of the Government of Dubai, MBRSG developed the new set of programs to reflect its continuous efforts to support the transformation of Dubai into a city of the future. Tailored to the highest global academic standards, the programs will equip the leaders that are shaping the future with the required skills and knowledge to efficiently undertake their roles.
MBRSG made the announcement at a press conference held on campus in the presence of His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the MBRSG Board of Trustees and Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Tayeb Amanullah Mohammed Kamali, Member of MBRSG Board of Trustees and Chairman of Emirates Driving Company, His Excellency Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, Professor Raed Awamleh, Dean of MBRSG, as well as representatives of the school’s faculty and students were also in attendance.
The Master in Innovation Management (MIM) supports the National Innovation Strategy through providing students with the tools needed to keep up with modern-day changes. Designed for current and future leaders in public and private sector organizations, the program will help students improve their ability to analyze and solve problems in the context of contemporary innovation management scenarios.
The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA), the first program of its kind taught in Arabic, introduces candidates to the most up-to-date governance practices and international government management techniques. The course curriculum integrates the latest analytical and evaluation tools of theoretical and practical policy making, and prioritizes their application in the public sector. In addition, it also outlines recommendations for effective solutions to current challenges in the public administration field.
The third and last program, Master of Public Policy (MPP), provides participants with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for high-quality policy and strategy development. Students pursuing this degree can choose one of five specializations: Education, Health, Sustainable Development, Social Policy, and Science and Technology.
On the sidelines of the press conference, MBRSG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future to provide scholarships for its distinguished employees to participate in the school’s academic programs. This step emphasizes the significant role MBRSG plays in enabling government and semi-government institutions and their personnel to achieve excellence and implement innovation to ensure sustainability in their work.
For his part, His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami said: “For years, MBRSG has been at the forefront of advancing government work in the UAE, and the wider Arab world, by providing academic programs in line with the latest trends in public administration. These new programs aim to deepen the positive impact of the school, raise the standards of employees in the government and private sectors, and refining their skillset in the areas that are most crucial to their organizations.”
Speaking on the launch, His Excellency Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri said: “Since the establishment of the UAE, our founding fathers have placed the utmost importance on investing in human capital due to its crucial role in our country’s development journey. Today, our government leaders are keen to accelerate the growth curve and achieve unprecedented levels of happiness for citizens and residents alike. Given this focus, we have designed our new programs to prepare the next generation of employees in private and government entities to adapt to changing dynamics and identify opportunities for institutional development.”
He added: “Our wise leadership has prioritized raising the preparedness of government employees for dealing with modern-day challenges while achieving the strategic objectives of their institutions and UAE vision 2021.”
Also headlining the conference, Professor Raed Awamleh said: “We are keen on collaborating with government entities to enhance the capabilities of their employees so that they can help implement progressive governance practices that will set the UAE at the forefront of government work. In line with the vision of our leadership, MBRSG encourages more effective communication and exchange of knowledge in local and international best practices to boost management and leadership expertise. Our new programs will introduce the students to global government practices while also developing their interpersonal and academic skills.”
In line with the school’s vision of training policy makers of the Arab world, MBRSG offers a variety of degree programs, most notably the Master of Public Administration (MPA). Focused on attracting mid-level employees that are interested in stepping up to the executive level, the program aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge of regional and international advancements within the public administration sphere.
